skiing lessons

As she led me down a particularly steep part of the mountain I confessed to Maureen that I’m always either too much in control or not enough. I was talking about skiing, but I could say the same thing about life. In both I tend to err on the “too much” side. Maybe after I get past this rough patch I can work on taking more risks and finding a better balance.

At night as I was drifting to sleep I felt the swish-swish of the motion and sound of skiing, kind of like how you can still feel the waves after a long day in the ocean, or hear a hum in your ears after a busy day in the country when you’re used to the noise of the city.
